Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Locke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hathaway swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hathaway is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hathaway is looking for a kimura but Locke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hathaway to get the leverage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hathaway connects with a nice short shot to Locke's temple.
Hathaway looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Locke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Locke can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hathaway is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Locke is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
