Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Akinfeev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akinfeev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 50 - Psycho kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Akinfeev. Couture does a little dance to reset his feet.
Couture fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akinfeev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Akinfeev looks to throw the jab but Couture is out of range.
Couture moves into range and connects with a jab.

Couture scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Akinfeev takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Couture shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Akinfeev napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Akinfeev is looking for a sweep.
Akinfeev is trying to escape the position but Couture is controlling the position.
Couture seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Akinfeev for as long as he can get away with.

Akinfeev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Couture wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Akinfeev pushes Couture away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Couture gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Couture is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Akinfeev gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Akinfeev wants to control but Couture passes into side.

Akinfeev is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Couture off and has taken his back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Akinfeev has the hooks in. Couture is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The cut man is working on Roman Akinfeev's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Couture throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Akinfeev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Akinfeev.
Akinfeev throws a jab but it's blocked by Couture.
Couture moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Akinfeev throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Couture sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Akinfeev throws a hook but Couture blocks it.
Couture dips to his left and cracks Akinfeev with an uppercut!

Couture lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Akinfeev takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Couture throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Couture throws a good cross that connects.
Akinfeev shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Couture smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The cut above Roman Akinfeev's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Akinfeev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Couture lands a two punch combo.
Akinfeev throws out a loose jab but Couture uses good head movement to avoid it.
Couture lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Akinfeev looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Akinfeev might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Couture lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Roman Akinfeev's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Couture misses with a two punch combination.
A jab from Couture does it's job there.
Couture throws a hook to the side of Akinfeev's head but Akinfeev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Couture is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Akinfeev can do to turn this around?
Akinfeev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The referee is keeping an eye on Couture - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Couture pushes Akinfeev back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
