Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Erik Swoigteair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon McCarty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erik Swoigteair looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Erik Swoigteair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon McCarty! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCarty looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Swoigteair looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! McCarty has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Swoigteair is proving hard to escape from. Swoigteair keeping moving, preventing McCarty from controlling successfully. McCarty slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. McCarty advances to full mount. Swoigteair is bucking up trying to escape but McCarty cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
It looks like Erik Swoigteair has been cut. McCarty trying to control but Swoigteair is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCarty putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McCarty cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McCarty looking to control but Swoigteair is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swoigteair is looking to get to half guard. McCarty is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Erik Swoigteair's cut is getting worse. McCarty looking to control but Swoigteair is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. McCarty controlling from mount.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jon McCarty just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McCarty lands a jab-cross combination.
Erik Swoigteair's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. McCarty is trying hard to land a takedown here. Swoigteair sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. McCarty tries for a takedown but Swoigteair sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. McCarty throws a head kick but Swoigteair moves out of range.
McCarty connects with a looping right hand.
Jeez, Erik Swoigteair's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. McCarty tries to clinch up. McCarty throws a solid leg kick but Swoigteair takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McCarty. McCarty changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Swoigteair looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. McCarty working the ground and pound. McCarty has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. McCarty content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCarty decides to stand back up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCarty tries to close the distance and clinch up but Swoigteair swats him away and circles back towards the center. Swoigteair stuffs the takedown. Erik Swoigteair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon McCarty. McCarty moves in looking to clinch but Swoigteair pushes him off. McCarty fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swoigteair avoids it really well and circles away. Swoigteair feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Swoigteair tries to free his leg and advance position but McCarty is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon McCarty dominated that round. The cut man is working on Erik Swoigteair's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McCarty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Swoigteair counters with a one-two to the body. McCarty with a poor takedown so Swoigteair counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. McCarty looking to hit a scissor sweep but Swoigteair is one step ahead there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swoigteair throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCarty works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McCarty seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Swoigteair trying to control the position from guard on top but McCarty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swoigteair has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McCarty is trying to control the position but Swoigteair postures up. McCarty trying to strike off his back.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McCarty throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Swoigteair's waist but Swoigteair gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCarty off to one side. Erik Swoigteair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon McCarty.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Swoigteair stuffs the takedown attempt from McCarty. McCarty gets slowly back to his feet. Swoigteair throws a right and a left that McCarty avoids nicely. Swoigteair gets caught flat footed, as McCarty shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Swoigteair throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
McCarty trying to control but Swoigteair is working from the bottom. Swoigteair controls McCarty momentarily but McCarty frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swoigteair looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCarty is one step ahead there. Swoigteair is trying to hold McCarty in close to prevent damage but McCarty has managed to pass into half guard.
McCarty is figuring out what he wants to do next. McCarty works his foot free and advances to mount. Swoigteair is squirming around, avoiding McCarty's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swoigteair is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
McCarty looking to secure an arm triangle but Swoigteair defends it well. McCarty controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Erik Swoigteair will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Erik Swoigteair's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Swoigteair shoots for a takedown but McCarty saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. McCarty doesn't succeed with the takedown and Swoigteair counters with a takedown into side control. McCarty is positioning himself to get back to half guard. McCarty gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. McCarty is refusing to be controlled, as Swoigteair sits in half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCarty tries to roll over but Swoigteair keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. McCarty manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Swoigteair postures up in McCarty's guard and throws a big left but McCarty blocks it. McCarty manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Swoigteair manages to get himself to full guard.
Swoigteair wants to control the position but McCarty says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. McCarty has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Swoigteair defend it? McCarty steps over the head and cranks it - Swoigteair is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McCarty!
