Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Maine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buzz Outlaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buzz Outlaw! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maine lands with a thumping leg kick.
Outlaw thows a left - swing and a miss! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Maine. Outlaw misses with a two punch combination.
Maine throws a half hearted mid kick. Maine takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Maine connects with a high kick. Maine pushes Outlaw up against the ropes in a clinch. Maine throws a knee to the head but misses.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maine tries to move to mount but Outlaw blocks the move with his legs. Outlaw looks for the body kick but Maine saw that one coming. Christopher Maine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maine fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Outlaw checks it well. Maine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice uppercut lands for Outlaw. That snapped Maine's head back.

Outlaw can't keep his opponent in guard - Maine advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Maine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Outlaw defends it well. Outlaw blocking the ground and pound attempt from Maine.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maine is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Outlaw has managed to free his arm - good work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Outlaw is looking to escape. Outlaw is staying active underneath Maine, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Maine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Outlaw is just riding it out for now. Maine eventually gives up the hold. Outlaw is trying to stand up here but Maine is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maine is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Maine tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Outlaw paws at him with a jab and circles away. Outlaw throws a head kick but Maine moves out of range.
Buzz Outlaw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Outlaw gets caught flat footed, as Maine shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Maine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Maine thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maine is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Maine shoots in looking for a takedown. Outlaw tries to sprawl out of it but Maine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Outlaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Outlaw misses with an uppercut. Maine slips under a jab. A slapping body kick lands there for Maine. Outlaw throws a lazy right hand but Maine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Maine fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Outlaw misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Outlaw throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Outlaw plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Outlaw throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maine sees it coming and avoids it easily. Maine tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Outlaw is able to avoid easily. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Maine tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Outlaw throws a hook to the side of Maine's head but Maine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Outlaw throws a head kick but Maine moves out of range.
Maine slips a jab from Outlaw. Outlaw looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Maine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Maine is looking to take a break and control but Outlaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Maine is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Maine throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Outlaw because Maine loaded up on that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maine wants to finish this one by submission but Outlaw is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maine. Maine looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Maine pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maine sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
