Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Kalashnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wladimir Kyshenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Kalashnikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wladimir Kyshenko!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyshenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kalashnikov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kyshenko.
Kalashnikov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kyshenko circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kalashnikov is defended easily by Kyshenko.

Kalashnikov feints and as Kyshenko raises his hands in defense, Kalashnikov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kalashnikov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kyshenko's waist but Kyshenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalashnikov off to one side.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kyshenko lands a nice short elbow.
Kyshenko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kalashnikov's head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kyshenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kalashnikov manages to avoid it.

Kyshenko moves into range and clinches up with Kalashnikov.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrei Kalashnikov will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
