The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzpatrick throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carraretto.
Fitzpatrick takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fitzpatrick stuffs the takedown attempt from Carraretto. Carraretto gets slowly back to his feet.
A chopping leg kick lands by Carraretto.
Fitzpatrick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carraretto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fitzpatrick as he jumps to the side.
Fitzpatrick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carraretto circles away quickly and effectively.
Carraretto throws a body kick that misses.
Fitzpatrick swats away the attempt to clinch by Carraretto.
Fitzpatrick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fitzpatrick throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carraretto tries to clinch but Fitzpatrick is having none of it.

Carraretto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Carraretto throws a sloppy head kick and Fitzpatrick moves out of range easily.

Carraretto closes the distance and clinches.

Carraretto pushes Fitzpatrick back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Carraretto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fitzpatrick's defenses.
Carraretto lands a good knee to the midsection. Fitzpatrick won't want to take too many of those.

Carraretto has clasped his hands together around Fitzpatrick's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Fitzpatrick is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Carraretto is controlling him well.
Fitzpatrick is working to avoid the ground and pound but Carraretto connects with a decent elbow.

Carraretto has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fitzpatrick is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Carraretto yanks on the arm and Fitzpatrick is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Carraretto.
