Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miki Hrvac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guntur Llaripukinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miki Hrvac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Guntur Llaripukinen!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hrvac fails to land the takedown.
Llaripukinen throws a head kick that misses.
Llaripukinen tries to clinch up.

Hrvac moves into range and clinches up with Llaripukinen.

Hrvac wants the takedown. Llaripukinen is fighting it off but Hrvac persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Llaripukinen's guard against the cage.
Llaripukinen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Hrvac pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Llaripukinen is keeping the position for now.
Llaripukinen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hrvac manages to get himself to full guard.
Llaripukinen stands and throws Hrvac's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Llaripukinen decides to stand back up.

Hrvac closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Llaripukinen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hrvac.

Hrvac has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Llaripukinen clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hrvac is not going to allow Llaripukinen to sit and survive in this position.

Hrvac lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Hrvac.
Llaripukinen turns into Hrvac and is now in his guard.
Llaripukinen tries to stand but Hrvac is controlling from the bottom.
Llaripukinen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Llaripukinen tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Hrvac is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Llaripukinen has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Llaripukinen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hrvac, who protects the arm well.
Llaripukinen throwing strikes but Hrvac manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hrvac creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hrvac trying to control the action but Llaripukinen is working from the bottom.
Llaripukinen is looking to regain half guard here but Hrvac keeps moving and retains side control.
Hrvac is chipping away with strikes.
Llaripukinen can't do much from the bottom here.
Llaripukinen defending against the ground and pound.

Llaripukinen manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miki Hrvac dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Llaripukinen stalks Hrvac and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hrvac's face. Hrvac staggers backwards, shaken.
Guntur Llaripukinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hrvac counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hrvac.
A frustrated look appears on Llaripukinen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hrvac has hold of one of Llaripukinen's legs. Llaripukinen is fighting the takedown attempt but Hrvac gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Llaripukinen wants to stand but Hrvac is controlling the position.
Hrvac wants to pass the guard but Llaripukinen is keeping the position.
Hrvac stands up over Llaripukinen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Llaripukinen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hrvac tries to free his leg and advance position but Llaripukinen is retaining full guard.
Llaripukinen keeping moving, preventing Hrvac from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hrvac stops Llaripukinen from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Llaripukinen tries to land a front kick but Hrvac steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hrvac doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Llaripukinen tries to clinch but Hrvac moves away

and Hrvac counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hrvac has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Llaripukinen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Llaripukinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hrvac doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hrvac manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hrvac tries to free his leg and advance position but Llaripukinen is retaining full guard.
Hrvac looking to sit in guard and control but Llaripukinen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Llaripukinen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Llaripukinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Llaripukinen tries to stand but Hrvac is controlling from the bottom.
Llaripukinen wants to control from the top but Hrvac keeps moving.

Llaripukinen stands and steps away. Hrvac gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Llaripukinen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hrvac pinned against the cage. Hrvac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hrvac darts in and clinches Llaripukinen up against the cage.
Llaripukinen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Miki Hrvac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guntur Llaripukinen.
Llaripukinen tries to pull guard but Hrvac holds him up against the cage and eventually Llaripukinen drops back down to his feet.

Hrvac turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Llaripukinen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hrvac throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hrvac tries to pass to full mount but Llaripukinen defends it.
Hrvac lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hrvac wants to take a breather but Llaripukinen is having none of it.

Llaripukinen moves into full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hrvac missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guntur Llaripukinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Horrible takedown by Llaripukinen or perhaps it was just good defense by Hrvac which made him look bad.

It looks like Miki Hrvac has been cut.
Llaripukinen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hrvac.
Llaripukinen moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hrvac fails to land the takedown.
Llaripukinen throws a push kick but Hrvac slaps the foot to one side.
Llaripukinen throws a head kick but Hrvac moves out of range.
Llaripukinen shoots in for a takedown but Hrvac shows good takedown defense.
Llaripukinen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hrvac changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Llaripukinen tries to avoid it but Hrvac manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Llaripukinen to the ground. Llaripukinen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Miki Hrvac is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Hrvac counters by clinching up.

Llaripukinen manages to pull guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Llaripukinen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Llaripukinen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Hrvac is squirming around, avoiding Llaripukinen's attempts to control the action.

Hrvac defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Llaripukinen.

Poor strikes thrown by Llaripukinen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Llaripukinen goes for an armbar but Hrvac turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hrvac.
Hrvac wants to control from the top but Llaripukinen keeps moving.
Llaripukinen wants to sweep here but Hrvac controlling him for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hrvac missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hrvac got a little sloppy there for a moment and Llaripukinen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hrvac has managed to get both his arms back between Llaripukinen's legs - danger averted.

Llaripukinen is looking to control Hrvac's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Llaripukinen avoid being mounted?
Hrvac passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Llaripukinen!

Guntur Llaripukinen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Llaripukinen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
