Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leon Barroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hellwig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon Barroni has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Leon Barroni! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Hellwig! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hellwig misses with a low kick. Hellwig gets a takedown into half guard. Hellwig is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Barroni trying to hold on to Hellwig's head to control him but Hellwig postures up.
Hellwig tries to stand but can't do so whilst Barroni controls his leg. Barroni trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barroni is trying to get back to full guard. Hellwig decides to stand up. Hellwig throws an overhand right that lands on Barroni's shoulder, as Barroni tries to avoid the shot. Hellwig pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Barroni shoots and misses and Hellwig counters with a single leg into guard. Barroni didn't expect that. Barroni tries to land a sweep but no joy. Barroni will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Hellwig decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barroni gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hellwig counters with a shoot takedown. Barroni fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barroni is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hellwig wants to get up but he can't break Barroni's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Barroni looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hellwig gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hellwig tries to clinch up but Barroni circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barroni misses with a takedown attempt and Hellwig counters with a shoot takedown. Barroni fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Barroni. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hellwig stopping the sweep attempt from Barroni. Hellwig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barroni. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barroni manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Barroni wants to clinch. Barroni shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hellwig counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Barroni thinking. Hellwig lands a really nice looking cross but Barroni seems unphased.
Barroni tries for a takedown but Hellwig circles away easily and Hellwig counters with a nice double leg into side control. Barroni won't be happy with that. Barroni tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hellwig decides to stand back up. Hellwig steps back and let's Barroni get back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! A big left from Hellwig misses. Barroni gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Hellwig counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Barroni. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hellwig decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Barroni, up you get! Hellwig bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hellwig stands up. Hellwig thows a left - swing and a miss! Hellwig throws a head kick that misses. Hellwig looks for the body kick but Barroni saw that one coming. James Hellwig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hellwig tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Barroni shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hellwig counters with a nice double leg into side control. Barroni won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Barroni gets back to half guard. Barroni trying to hold on to Hellwig's head to control him but Hellwig postures up.
Barroni tries to get to full guard but Hellwig has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hellwig stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Barroni to get to his feet. Barroni throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barroni shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hellwig moves into the clinch. Barroni tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hellwig tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Barroni avoids it. Hellwig is leaning against Barroni and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Knees in the clinch landing for Barroni.
Barroni goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hellwig prevents it.
Hellwig lands a hook to the side of the head. Barroni misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hellwig.
Barroni has Hellwig pressed against the cage, preventing Hellwig from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Hellwig manages to pull guard.
James Hellwig has got the better of the ground game so far. Hellwig working for a triangle but Barroni defends it easily.
Hellwig is looking to stand up but Barroni isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hellwig has his feet on Barroni's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Barroni has his takedown stuffed and Hellwig counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barroni's guard now. Hellwig trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barroni's guard. Barroni is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hellwig can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barroni is looking to take a break and control but Hellwig is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! James Hellwig comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hellwig has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
