Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boris Cekada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarvis Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Boris Cekada has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarvis Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman moves in looking to clinch but Cekada pushes him off.

Chapman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chapman lands in his opponent's guard.
Chapman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cekada is keeping the position for now.
Chapman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cekada has an active guard here but Chapman has managed to pass into half guard.
Cekada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cekada makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cekada.

Cekada escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chapman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cekada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chapman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chapman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chapman stays in close to Cekada's body and controls the position.

Jarvis Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chapman swings for the body but Cekada moves out of range.
Chapman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cekada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chapman.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chapman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Chapman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cekada can't fight it off and eventually Chapman manages to take the fight to the floor. Cekada looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Chapman prevents Cekada from improving his position.
Chapman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Chapman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Cekada wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cekada is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Chapman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cekada swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cekada is working an open guard so Chapman takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Chapman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Chapman wants to control from the top but Cekada keeps moving.

Chapman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cekada has his foot on Chapman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chapman works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chapman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cekada is proving hard to escape from.

Jarvis Chapman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Chapman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cekada swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Chapman is looking to work some ground and pound but Cekada has wrist control.
Cekada is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chapman tries to kick Cekada off but Cekada keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Cekada seems to be working for a kimura but Chapman defends the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chapman pushes Cekada off looking to stand but Cekada dives back in and keeps control.
Chapman won't allow Cekada to pass to mount.

Cekada is working for a submission of some sort.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Chapman tries to clinch there but Cekada circles away.
Cekada rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chapman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cekada moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jarvis Chapman has been cut.

and Chapman counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Cekada has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chapman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cekada.

Cekada tries to bum rush Chapman with a series of wild strikes but Chapman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chapman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cekada shoots in but no luck this time.
Chapman misses with a two punch combination.
Cekada tries to score with a low kick but Chapman moves his leg out of the way.

Chapman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cekada sprawls well initially but Chapman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cekada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chapman wants to pass the guard but Cekada is defending well.

Cekada is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chapman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chapman's back!
Jarvis Chapman has got the better of the ground game so far.

Chapman just trying to survive but Cekada is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Chapman is trying to defend against the choke here but Cekada has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Cekada Tightens the hold and Chapman taps out furiously! Cekada displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
