PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quack Smack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ant Marino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ant Marino!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smack shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marino manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Marino controls Smack momentarily but Smack frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marino is on top in guard.
Smack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Smack looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marino is one step ahead there.
Marino wants to control from the top but Smack keeps moving.
Smack throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Smack trying to control the position.
Smack looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marino is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smack wants to improve his position but instead Marino has moved into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marino tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Smack.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smack fails with a takedown attempt.
Marino gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Smack counters with a takedown into side control.

Smack thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Marino is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marino is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smack connects with a decent elbow.
An elbow from Smack crashes against the mat.
Smack trying to control the action but Marino is working from the bottom.
Marino managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Smack.
Marino tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smack wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Smack takes a little break here. Marino wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Smack tries to score with some ground and pound. Marino controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smack lands some shots froms side control.
Marino is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smack connects with a decent elbow.
Smack in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Marino looks gassed!

Smack is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Marino is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Smack's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Smack! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Marino has tapped! This one is allllll over!
