Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hatoy Gnung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yannick Maruck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gnung comes into the arena with Why Can't We Be Friends? blaring out of the sound system. Maruck has chosen Redemption Song as his entrance music. Hatoy Gnung could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yannick Maruck's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maruck fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maruck shoots in but Gnung avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gnung doesn't manage to clinch there - Maruck circles away.
Gnung defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maruck.
Maruck circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gnung drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Maruck has a closed guard, preventing Gnung from standing up.

Maruck looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Gnung gets to his feet. Maruck looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Maruck keeps the fight on the outside.

Gnung clinches up against the cage.
Gnung wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gnung tries to land a knee to the head but Maruck blocks with his arms.
Gnung wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Maruck jumps guard.
Gnung thows a big elbow that misses.
Maruck working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gnung.

Gnung throwing strikes from guard but Maruck blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gnung avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Maruck is looking for a triangle but Gnung pushes his legs off easily.
Gnung in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gnung throwing strikes from guard but Maruck blocks nicely.
Gnung wanted to stand there but Maruck had control of the position.

Maruck working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gnung doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gnung manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maruck looks gassed!

Maruck looking for a guillotine here but Gnung defends easily.

Gnung decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gnung tries to close the distance and clinch but Maruck swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gnung wants to clinch.

Gnung tries to clinch up but Maruck circles away and keeps his distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Gnung has Maruck up against the cage in a clinch.
Gnung tries to break free but Maruck pushes him back against the cage.
Maruck jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gnung walks away with a smile on his face. Maruck gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hatoy Gnung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yannick Maruck.

and Maruck counters with a nice body kick.

Gnung escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gnung tries to clinch up but Maruck circles away and keeps his distance.
Maruck misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick by Gnung - that's a beauty! Maruck is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Gnung can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
