Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Novokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Langhi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Novokov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Langhi!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langhi swings for the body but Novokov moves out of range.
Langhi swats away the attempt to clinch by Novokov.

Novokov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Langhi was covering up waiting for the punch and Novokov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Novokov gets to his feet. Langhi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Novokov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Langhi throws a jab when Novokov was well out of range.
Novokov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Langhi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Novokov pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Novokov taking a breather.
Novokov prevents the takedown attempt.
Langhi can't get the takedown.
Aleksandr Novokov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Langhi.
Langhi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Novokov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Novokov is looking to clinch but Langhi is avoiding it.

Langhi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Novokov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Langhi tries to stand but Novokov controls the position and pulls Langhi into his guard.
Langhi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Novokov is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Novokov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Novokov wants to control but Langhi is keeping him busy.

Novokov stands up from half guard.

Langhi looks to score with a jab to the body but Novokov is just out of range.
Langhi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Novokov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Novokov.
Langhi looks gassed!
Novokov just leaning against Langhi, taking a breather.
Langhi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Novokov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Langhi throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Novokov tries to work over Langhi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Langhi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Novokov fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Langhi gets caught flat footed, as Novokov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Novokov looking to pass the guard.
Novokov wanted to stand there but Langhi had control of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Langhi keeping moving, preventing Novokov from controlling successfully.
Novokov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Langhi seems keen to control Novokov's posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Langhi wants to sweep here but Novokov controlling him for the moment.
Langhi controls Novokov momentarily but Novokov frees himself.

Novokov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Langhi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Novokov, into his guard.
Novokov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Langhi is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aleksandr Novokov dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Langhi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Langhi misses with a takedown

and Novokov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Novokov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Novokov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Langhi controls Novokov momentarily but Novokov frees himself.
Langhi wants to control the position but Novokov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Langhi wants to get back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Langhi is staying active underneath Novokov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Langhi trying to hold on to Novokov's head to control him but Novokov postures up.
Novokov wants to pass to mount but Langhi is defending the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Langhi throws a sloppy body shot
and Novokov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Langhi's knee momentarily.
Langhi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Novokov as he jumps to the side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Novokov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Novokov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Langhi is fending him off so far but Novokov persists. Nope, Langhi circles away and we're back to standing.

Novokov can't keep his opponent in guard - Langhi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Novokov trying to control but Langhi postures up.

Novokov is defending against the submission attempts here by Langhi.
Langhi stops Novokov from getting back to his feet.
Novokov tries to get to full guard but Langhi has control of the leg.

Langhi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Novokov is not content to let Langhi control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Novokov missing with punches from the bottom.

Langhi decides to stand and escape the position.

Novokov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Langhi to the mat! Langhi manages to get full guard.
Langhi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Novokov is trying desperately to improve position.

Langhi has isolated one of Novokov's arms. Novokov looking to fight him off but Langhi twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
