Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Vario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vario's entrance music is Ecuadorian National Antheme. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez shoots in but Vario avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vario shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hernandez wants to control but Vario is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Vario working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Vario could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vario is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hernandez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vario.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Vario winds up and cracks Hernandez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hernandez is staying active underneath Vario, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vario closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Vario swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hernandez throws a big shot that misses.
Vario moves out of range of the leg kick from Hernandez.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vario looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vario closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hernandez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Vario wants to control but Hernandez is keeping him busy.
Vario knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hernandez on the ground.
Hernandez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hernandez moves into full guard.
Hernandez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hernandez lands with some strikes.
The referee warns Vario that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hernandez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hernandez has hold of Vario's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vario manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hernandez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hernandez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hernandez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Vario is now in Hernandez's guard. A big mistake from Hernandez there, giving up the dominant position!
Mario Vario overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Vario is sitting in close to Hernandez's body. Hernandez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Vario is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Vario is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hernandez.
