Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Victor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timmy Varas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Varas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Victor manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Victor wants to stand but Varas is controlling the position.
Victor has Varas pulled in close to control his posture.

Victor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Varas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Varas lands in his opponent's guard.

Victor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Varas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Varas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Timmy Varas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
