Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heimdall Aegir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulson has chosen Pantera - Cowboys from Hell as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Heimdall Aegir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Robert Paulson! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Paulson misses. Aegir fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Paulson lands a body shot.
Paulson wants to clinch. Paulson fails in his attempt to clinch. Aegir shoots in but Paulson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Paulson tries to close the distance and clinch but Aegir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aegir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paulson tries to avoid it but Aegir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paulson to the ground. Paulson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heimdall Aegir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aegir avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Paulson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Paulson wants it to stay on the feet. Paulson misses with a wild body shot. A big left from Paulson misses. Aegir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Paulson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Heimdall Aegir has been cut. Aegir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Paulson but Paulson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Paulson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Aegir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Aegir looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aegir looking to control but Paulson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Aegir prevents Paulson from getting the reversal. Aegir trying to control but Paulson is having none of it. Paulson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paulson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Paulson prevents Aegir from taking his back. Aegir looking to control but Paulson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Aegir is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Paulson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Aegir moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Paulson has worked his arm free - good work by Paulson!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Paulson is concentrating on defense, preventing Aegir from advancing position. Aegir is stalling here. Paulson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Aegir seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Paulson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Paulson wants to take a breather but Aegir manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Paulson. Paulson passes Aegir's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Paulson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Aegir does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Paulson is taking a breather. Aegir says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulson looks to land a combination. Aegir sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Aegir tries for a takedown but Paulson circles away easily and Paulson counters with a stiff right hand. Robert Paulson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paulson tries to bum rush Aegir with a series of wild strikes but Aegir uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Paulson throws a hook but Aegir avoids it easily. Paulson scores with a jab. Aegir acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Paulson slips a jab and a cross from Aegir.
Aegir shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Paulson counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heimdall Aegir. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paulson tries to work over Aegir's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Paulson. Paulson breaks the clinch.

Paulson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Paulson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Aegir has him pressed against the cage. Aegir drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paulson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aegir is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Robert Paulson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Heimdall Aegir's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Paulson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Paulson gets caught flat footed, as Aegir shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Paulson is pulling down on Aegir's head. It's preventing any offense from Aegir, at least for the moment. Paulson trying to keep a closed guard but Aegir is proving a slippery customer.
Paulson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Aegir dives into side control.

Paulson won't allow Aegir to pass to mount. Paulson tries to kick Aegir off but Aegir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Aegir is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paulson is just riding it out for now. Aegir eventually gives up the hold. Aegir seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Paulson wants to improve his position but Aegir is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No joy there for Paulson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Paulson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Aegir to score an easy takedown into full guard. Robert Paulson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Aegir forces his way into half guard. Paulson wants to get back to full guard. Paulson wants to get back to his feet. Aegir not doing much here.
Heimdall Aegir has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Paulson tries to kick Aegir off but Aegir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Robert Paulson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Paulson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
