The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Roshan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Akiyama's waist but Akiyama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roshan off to one side.
Roshan lands a nice shot to the body.
Akiyama sizes up Roshan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Akiyama has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Roshan finds it's way round the side to connect with Akiyama's head.

Roshan has gone for a leg lock! Akiyama slips out almost immediately though and dives into Roshan's guard.

Akiyama wants to stand up but Roshan is controlling him.

Akiyama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roshan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Roshan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
