0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cee Digits Jr! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Digits Jr tries to clinch but Cormier moves out of range. Digits Jr looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Cormier closes the distance and clinches. Cormier pulls Digits Jr into guard.
Cormier has control of Digits Jr's left arm, preventing Digits Jr from doing any damage. Digits Jr won't allow Cormier to sweep him here. Cormier throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Cormier looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cormier is trying to keep Digits Jr in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Digits Jr throws a push kick but Cormier slaps the foot to one side. Digits Jr gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cormier to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cormier postures up and lands a big shot to Digits Jr's brow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cormier tries to free his leg and advance position but Digits Jr is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Digits Jr working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Digits Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cormier wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Digits Jr tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cormier cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

A nice inside leg kick there by Cormier. That's going to slow Digits Jr down. Digits Jr throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Cormier avoids a kick to the body.
Digits Jr takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Cee Digits Jr has been cut. Daniel Cormier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cormier scores a takedown into full mount! BOOM! Cormier connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Digits Jr is trying desperately to improve position. Cormier breaks from Digits Jr's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cormier circles away from the clinch attempt and Cormier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Digits Jr won't be happy with that. Cormier tries to advance to mount but Digits Jr denies him. Digits Jr can't do much from the bottom here.

Cormier unloading with bombs! Digits Jr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Digits Jr really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cormier lands a big shot there that rocks Digits Jr but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Digits Jr stuffs the takedown. Digits Jr doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cormier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Digits Jr won't be happy with that. Digits Jr wants to control but Cormier postures up. Digits Jr is looking to reverse the position. Cormier in side control, throwing shots but Digits Jr defends. Cormier trying to control the position but Digits Jr is working away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cormier looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Digits Jr wants to control but Cormier postures up. Digits Jr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cormier's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Digits Jr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Digits Jr manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cormier tries to lock up and control but Digits Jr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Cormier is looking to improve his position but Digits Jr isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Digits Jr trying to control but Cormier is having none of it. Daniel Cormier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cormier wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Digits Jr avoids the attempt from Cormier to control. Digits Jr blocks Cormier's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Digits Jr tries to control but Cormier wriggling away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
