Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Farley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Farley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alejandro Cabrera!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farley takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Farley tries to land a front kick but Cabrera steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Farley throws a nice looking combination but Cabrera bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Good leg kick by Cabrera there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cabrera should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Cabrera throws a lazy body kick
and Farley counters with a series of strikes. Cabrera will be more careful next time no doubt.
Farley moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Farley avoids a kick to the body.
Cabrera throws a looping overhand right but Farley ducks down to avoid it.
Farley throws a combination. Cabrera tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cabrera takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Farley works over Cabrera's head and body with a nice combination.
Farley lands a really nice looking cross but Cabrera seems unphased.
Cabrera lands with a thumping leg kick.

Farley scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Cabrera fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Farley is out of range.

Farley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Farley with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cabrera tries to lock up and control but Farley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Farley has hold of Cabrera's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cabrera manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Farley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Farley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cabrera is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cabrera and Farley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Farley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Farley crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cabrera - the referee stops the clock and Farley gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cabrera. Farley manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Farley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
