Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Rivera! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera shoots in and bounces Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Penn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rivera defends well. Penn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rivera is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rivera sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Rivera is looking to control Penn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rivera avoid being mounted? Rivera tries to get to full guard but Penn has control of the leg. Still in half guard, Penn seems content to control. Penn trying to control the action but Rivera is working from the bottom. Rivera wants to control but Penn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Penn seems to be looking for submissions.
Penn is trying to work for a kimura but Rivera is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn works his way into full mount! Penn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rivera is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rivera and Penn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rivera is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Penn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Penn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Penn is breathing heavily. Rivera is trying to control Penn's posture but Penn avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Penn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivera keeps working. Rivera manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Penn is trying to control the action in half guard but Rivera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Rivera is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Penn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Penn's back! Penn breaks Rivera's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Rivera trying to keep a closed guard but Penn is proving a slippery customer.
Penn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rivera is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Rivera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Penn wants to hold on but Rivera pushes him away. Penn is working to get back to half guard.
Penn tries to hold on but Rivera postures up. Rivera has hold of Penn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Penn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rivera prevents Penn from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rivera avoids the attempt from Penn to control. Rivera fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rivera tries to control but Penn wriggling away. Rivera is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Penn is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Penn flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rivera anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Penn and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rivera slips an arm under Penn chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rivera has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rivera is squeezing on Penn like an anaconda would it's prey. Penn fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jose Rivera!
