Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Zuyderlicht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Montes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Montes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zuyderlicht swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zuyderlicht swats away the attempt to clinch by Montes.
Marc Montes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Zuyderlicht. No joy for Montes on that attempt.
Zuyderlicht will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zuyderlicht shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Montes as he jumps to the side.
Montes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zuyderlicht counters with a left and a right that stings Montes.

and Zuyderlicht counters with a one-two to the body.

and Montes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zuyderlicht's guard.

Zuyderlicht shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Montes as he jumps to the side.
Montes moves in looking to clinch but Zuyderlicht pushes him off.

Zuyderlicht fails to land with a series of punches.
Montes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zuyderlicht counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Zuyderlicht counters with a left and a right that stings Montes.
Montes tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Zuyderlicht counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Zuyderlicht trying to control the position from guard on top but Montes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Zuyderlicht is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Montes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zuyderlicht is one step ahead there.

Zuyderlicht throws a strike but Montes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Montes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
