Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante The Saint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Childs!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for The Saint, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Childs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has The Saint pinned against the cage. The Saint gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Childs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Saint controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The Saint wants to control from the top but Childs keeps moving.
Childs wants to get back to his feet but The Saint is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The Saint trying to control but Childs is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Childs can do anything to dispel that myth.

Childs wants to stand but The Saint is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The Saint shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Childs but Childs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The Saint tries a head kick but it misses.
The Saint really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Childs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Childs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The Saint trying to hold on to Childs's head to control him but Childs postures up.
Childs tries to stand and escape but The Saint actually recovers to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Childs wants to stand but The Saint has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The Saint controls Childs momentarily but Childs frees himself.

The Saint is working an open guard so Childs takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Childs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante The Saint. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Saint has a closed guard, preventing Childs from standing up.
Childs won't allow The Saint to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Childs stands and steps away. The Saint gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Childs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. The Saint sprawls well initially but Childs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Childs wants to get back to his feet but The Saint is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Childs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes The Saint off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brian Childs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Childs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of The Saint is proving hard to escape from.

The Saint dives in and grabs Childs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Childs pushes down on The Saint's head and hops out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
