PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rutherford Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Meogy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meogy is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Everything in it's right place. The key to victory for Rutherford Hayes has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes misses with a wild body shot.
Hayes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Meogy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hayes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Meogy doesn't seem bothered though.
A cross from Hayes lands.
A punch combination from Hayes misses.

Hayes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hayes throws a series of punches but Meogy moves out of range.
Good exchange - Hayes coming out on top.
Meogy misses with a body shot
and Hayes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hayes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Mr Meogy has been cut.
Hayes misses with a few strikes there.
Meogy fails in his attempt to clinch.

Meogy forces Hayes back against the ropes and clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hayes.
Hayes is trying to drag Meogy to the mat but Meogy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Meogy is trying to trip Hayes. He has hold of a leg but Hayes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Meogy persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Meogy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Meogy wants to control from the top but Hayes keeps moving.
Meogy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hayes wants to stand but Meogy is controlling the position.
Meogy won't allow Hayes to sweep him here.

Hayes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meogy defends well.

Hayes throws his legs up looking for a submission but Meogy uses it to pass to side control.
Hayes prevents Meogy from improving position.
Hayes avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Meogy .

Meogy has hold of Hayes's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hayes tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Meogy cranks the arm and Hayes screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hayes, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
