1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrei Avleski! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Avleski. Machado changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Avleski tries to avoid it but Machado manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Avleski to the ground. Avleski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Avleski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Avleski prevents Machado from improving his position. Machado looking for submissions off his back. Machado trying to get back to full guard but Avleski takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Machado tries to get back to half guard but can't. Avleski controlling his opponent. Machado is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avleski content just to control the position here. Machado is desperately trying to improve his position but Avleski has a good base and remains in mount. Avleski controlling from the full mount. Avleski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machado . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Avleski's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Machado is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Machado manages to regain half guard. Good work. Machado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Machado is looking for a sweep. Avleski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Avleski is controlling the pace.

Avleski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Machado isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Avleski stacks Machado on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Avleski! Avleski stands up and we're back to a striking position. Machado fails with the takedown and Avleski moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rigan Machado . That's going to take a lot out of him. Machado drops down looking for an ankle pick but Avleski pulls his leg out and moves away.

Avleski is sitting in close to Machado 's body. Machado has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Avleski is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Avleski is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Machado .
