Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Didier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Didier looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Axe tries to roll over but Didier keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Axe trying to hold on to Didier's head to control him but Didier postures up.
Didier seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Didier trying to mount his opponent but Axe defends it.
Didier has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Axe is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Didier sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Axe reaches up to try and control the position but Didier seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Axe rolls and tries to escape and now Didier has his back!
Axe is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Didier gets his way!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Didier drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Axe gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Didier connects with a couple of short punches.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Axe is on top in guard.
Didier is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Axe postures up and lands a big shot to Didier's brow.

Didier has a closed guard, preventing Axe from standing up.
Axe scoring with some ground and pound.
Didier trying to keep a closed guard but Axe is proving a slippery customer.
Didier wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Axe is now in half guard.

Axe won't allow Didier to get back to his feet.
Axe stands up from Didier's guard - Axe perhaps looking for a knockout.
Axe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Didier moves into the clinch.
Didier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duke Didier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Didier jumps into guard, dragging Axe to the mat.

Didier on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Didier tries to get out of the position.

Axe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Didier is proving hard to escape from.
Axe with a flurry of punches that miss.
Axe wants to stand and escape but instead Didier has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Axe throws his legs up looking for a submission but Didier uses it to pass to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Axe tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Didier wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Didier throws an elbow but Axe slips to the side and avoids it well.
Didier passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Axe!
Didier breaks from Axe's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Didier sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Didier working the ground and pound effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Duke Didier dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Didier fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Axe, pushing him back against the cage.
Didier will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Axe up against the cage.
Didier has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Axe is trying to keep an underhook but Didier manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Axe regains full guard. Nicely done.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Axe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Axe wants to control from the top but Didier keeps moving.
Didier trying to keep a closed guard but Axe is proving a slippery customer.
Axe drops back looking for a leg! Didier is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Didier manages to kick Axe off! Axe jumps back into Didier's guard.
Axe looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Axe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Didier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Axe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Axe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Didier is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Axe with a poor takedown
and Didier counters with a body kick.
Didier shoots in and bounces Axe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Axe is trying to control the position but Didier postures up.

Didier keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Axe's head.
Didier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Axe on the ground.
Didier wants to control from the top but Axe keeps moving.

Axe is trying to control the position but Didier postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Axe with a lazy takedown attempt
and Didier counters with a single leg into guard. Axe didn't expect that.
Duke Didier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Axe wants to sweep here but Didier controlling him for the moment.
Axe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Axe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Axe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well Didier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
