And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jud Lolae!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lolae swats away the attempt to clinch by Groove.
Groove will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Groove scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Groove is looking for a kimura but Lolae is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Groove to get the leverage.
Groove uses his free foot to push down on Lolae's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lolae.

Groove looking to secure an arm triangle but Lolae defends it well.
Groove lands a big elbow.

Groove working for a submission but Lolae is keeping him at bay.
Groove is breathing heavily.

Groove stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Lolae throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Lolae. No joy for Groove on that attempt.
Groove thows a left - swing and a miss!

Nice sprawl there from Lolae as Groove shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kendall Groove. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Groove tries to clinch there but Lolae circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lolae looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lolae tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Groove fails to land the takedown.
Lolae shoots in and drives through. Groove sprawls well.
Lolae misses with a head kick.

and Lolae finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Lolae stuffs the takedown.
Groove throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lolae's waist but Lolae gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Groove off to one side.

and Lolae counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Groove bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

You can see the frustration on Lolae's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Groove has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Groove looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lolae is looking to improve his position.
Lolae misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Groove is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lolae moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Groove sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lolae's guard.
Groove passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lolae!
Groove really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lolae is looking to improve his position but Groove isn't that keen on the idea.
Groove takes Lolae's back.

Groove is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Lolae won't enjoy being in this position. Groove looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Lolae is tapping - it's over boys! Groove picks up the submission victory!
