Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Baby Firefly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Firefly comes to the cage accompanied by Bleed it out. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Gailfus!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Firefly breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Firefly tests Gailfus's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gailfus tries for a takedown but Firefly sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Firefly lands a jab-cross combination.
Gailfus closes the distance but Firefly moves to the side
and Firefly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gailfus looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Firefly moves into range and clinches up with Gailfus.

Firefly gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Firefly content to stall in guard here.

Firefly stands up and waves to Gailfus to follow him.
Baby Firefly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gailfus takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

That has opened up Rodney Gailfus's cut even more.

Firefly tries to close the distance and clinch but Gailfus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Firefly moves into the clinch successfully.

Firefly breaks from the clinch.
Gailfus takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Firefly rushes Gailfus and presses him up against the cage.

Firefly jumps into guard, dragging Gailfus to the mat.
Gailfus prevents Firefly from getting back to his feet.

Firefly scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Gailfus counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Firefly is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Firefly drives through and clinches with Gailfus against the cage.

Firefly tightens his grip and picks Gailfus up, before dumping him to the ground. Gailfus manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Firefly pushes down on Gailfus's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Well, if Firefly is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Firefly stands up and beckons Gailfus to join him on the feet.
Gailfus swats away the attempt to clinch by Firefly.
Gailfus takes one on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Firefly pushes Gailfus up against the cage in a clinch.
Firefly tries to circle away but Gailfus has him pinned against the cage.
Firefly is looking to break free of the clinch but Gailfus has double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gailfus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Firefly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gailfus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Gailfus counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Firefly lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Firefly takes the fight into the clinch.
Gailfus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Firefly avoids it.
Gailfus wants to break free but Firefly has control.

Firefly manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Firefly lands with an uppercut that bounces Gailfus off the cage and back into rage.
The crowd cheers as Firefly lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gailfus doesn't seem phased though.

Gailfus takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Firefly looks to land a combination. Gailfus sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Firefly tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gailfus swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Firefly darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gailfus doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Firefly counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Firefly is taking a breather. Gailfus says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gailfus wants to get back to full guard.

Firefly postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Gailfus to stand up.
Firefly is looking to clinch but Gailfus is avoiding it.

Firefly gets control of Gailfus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Firefly will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Firefly forces Gailfus back against the cage and clinches.

Firefly tightens his grip and picks Gailfus up, before dumping him to the ground. Gailfus manages to land in guard.
Firefly with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Firefly slips nicely into half guard.
Gailfus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Firefly's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Firefly's back!

enabling Firefly to counter with a crisp jab.
Firefly bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gailfus's head.
Gailfus has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Gailfus throws his legs up looking for a submission but Firefly uses it to pass to side control.

Firefly decides to stand back up. Firefly steps back and let's Gailfus get back to his feet.

Firefly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Firefly wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Firefly wants to clinch up but Gailfus keeps it at a distance.
No joy there for Firefly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Firefly's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Firefly duly obliges.
Rodney Gailfus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Firefly tries to clinch up but Gailfus circles away and keeps his distance.
Baby Firefly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
