Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Drowning Pool- Let the bodies hit the floor. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Onward to Victory. Gavin Douglas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie digs a good hook to Douglas's body.
Douglas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie wants to get back to full guard. Douglas is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer. Douglas tries to pass to full mount but Gracie defends it. Douglas is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gracie! Gracie is squirming around, avoiding Douglas's attempts to control the action. Douglas wants to finish this one by submission but Gracie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Douglas. Douglas trying to control but Gracie is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas has hold of Gracie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gracie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Douglas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gracie can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gracie's face.
Gracie is looking to get to half guard. Douglas is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie stops Douglas from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice jab there from Gracie. Douglas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Gracie stuffs the takedown. Gracie lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Gracie is fending him off so far but Douglas persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gavin Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet. Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Gracie tries to stand but Douglas is controlling from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie. Douglas keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Douglas. Douglas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gracie drops Douglas with a beautiful combination! Douglas stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gracie is looking for the KO!

It looks like Gavin Douglas has been cut. Gracie dances in with a quick combination. Douglas is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Gracie snaps Douglas's head back. Douglas stumbles backwards against the cage. Gracie steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Douglas's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Douglas just didn't come prepared.
