Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Remigiusz Klajn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sebastien Roy! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Roy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Klajn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Roy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Klajn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Klajn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Klajn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Klajn prevents Roy from getting the reversal. Klajn working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Klajn thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Klajn sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Klajn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Klajn.
Roy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Klajn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Klajn throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Roy is squirming around, avoiding Klajn's attempts to control the action. Roy stops Klajn from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Roy is trying to escape the mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Klajn looking to control and managing it successfully. Klajn looking to control but Roy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Klajn takes Roy's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Roy is in trouble. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roy controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Klajn is working for a rear naked choke. Roy is not defending it well and Klajn has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Roy refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Roy's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
