Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Pozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Charuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charuto has chosen Sergio Mendes - Joga Bontio as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Alan Charuto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Pozzi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alan Charuto! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charuto smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Pozzi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Charuto swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Good standup being displayed there by Charuto as he connects with a hook. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Charuto, as that shot connected.
Charuto uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pozzi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Charuto circles away quickly and effectively. Charuto looks to throw the jab but Pozzi is out of range. Nice uppercut lands for Charuto. That snapped Pozzi's head back.
Pozzi shoots for a takedown but Charuto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pozzi misses with a few strikes there.
Charuto throws a hook to the side of Pozzi's head but Pozzi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Charuto works the jab nicely. Pozzi dodges the punch combination from Charuto.
Pozzi lands with a shot to the body. Alan Charuto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pozzi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Charuto moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Charuto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pozzi circles away quickly and effectively. Pozzi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nice jab there from Charuto.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Charuto does no damage. Charuto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pozzi misses with a combination
and Charuto counters with a three punch combo that has Pozzi backing up. Pozzi nods at Charuto to acknowledge the strikes. Charuto lands a right hook to the body.
Charuto moves out of range of the strikes. A lazy left from Charuto finds it's target. Charuto misses with a two punch combination.
Charuto might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Charuto falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pozzi counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pozzi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Charuto counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Charuto is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pozzi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Pozzi connects with a jab. Pozzi gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Charuto. Pozzi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pozzi is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pozzi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pozzi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pozzi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Pozzi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pozzi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pozzi prevents Charuto from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pozzi not doing much here.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Ricardo Pozzi just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Pozzi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Charuto counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pozzi is trying to improve his position. Pozzi sneaks back into half guard. Charuto looks gassed! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pozzi tries to get to full guard but Charuto has control of the leg. Pozzi is pressing down on Charuto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pozzi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Charuto did well to prevent Pozzi getting side control. Pozzi is thwarting Charuto's attempts to control the position. Pozzi is controlling the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pozzi in particular looking to stall. Pozzi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Pozzi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Pozzi content to control rather than advance. Pozzi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Charuto for as long as he can get away with. Pozzi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pozzi moves nicely into side control. Charuto is breathing heavily. Pozzi working the body and head with strikes. Charuto is being controlled here.

and Charuto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Charuto throws a nice looking combination but Pozzi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pozzi connects with the punch. Charuto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Charuto takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ricardo Pozzi is winning the standup battle so far. Charuto takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Pozzi throws a lazy right hand but Charuto sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pozzi takes a swing at Charuto's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pozzi works the jab nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pozzi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Pozzi looks to land a combination but Charuto avoids it well. Pozzi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Charuto was well out of range. Poor timing from Pozzi. Pozzi takes a swing at Charuto's ribcage but misses. Charuto throws a jab when Pozzi was well out of range. Pozzi rushes Charuto and presses him up against the cage. Pozzi is trying to trip Charuto. He has hold of a leg but Charuto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pozzi persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Charuto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pozzi cracks Charuto with a solid left hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Charuto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pozzi controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Pozzi dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Alan Charuto's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Charuto takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pozzi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Charuto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Pozzi lands a lovely overhand right. Pozzi throws a series of punches but Charuto moves out of range. Charuto slips a jab from Pozzi. Charuto walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Pozzi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That has opened up Alan Charuto's cut even more. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pozzi instigates a clinch. Charuto letting Pozzi take a breather here. Pozzi has Charuto pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pozzi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Charuto tumbling to the mat - Pozzi dives into Charuto's guard. Pozzi controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charuto is working an open guard so Pozzi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Charuto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Charuto takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Charuto takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Pozzi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Pozzi lands a nice hook to Charuto's body. Charuto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A jab from Pozzi misses. Nice body punch from Pozzi. This has been an exciting period of action! Pozzi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozzi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Pozzi lands with a cross. Pozzi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Charuto, pushing him back against the cage. Pozzi gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pozzi controlling the action here. Pozzi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pozzi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pozzi landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Ricardo Pozzi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Pozzi is taking a breather. Charuto says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Pozzi moves into full mount! Charuto won't be happy about that! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pozzi controlling his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Pozzi showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pozzi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
