PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Rameiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Flegenheimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rameiro comes to the cage accompanied by Go to Ring. The crowd seem to be enjoying Flegenheimer's choice of entrance music: Notorious B.I.G - Dead Wrong (feat. Eminem). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Rameiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arthur Flegenheimer!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rameiro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Flegenheimer sprawls well. Flegenheimer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rameiro gets slowly back to his feet.
Flegenheimer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Rameiro clinches with his opponent.

Rameiro decides to pull guard.
Flegenheimer throws a big right hand that misses.
Flegenheimer postures up.
Flegenheimer being controlled here momentarily.

Rameiro pushes Flegenheimer off and gets back to his feet.
Rameiro fails with an attempt to clinch.

Rameiro postures up in Flegenheimer's guard and throws a big left but Flegenheimer blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rameiro gets to his feet. Flegenheimer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rameiro shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flegenheimer defends it nicely.

and Rameiro counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rameiro working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Flegenheimer's head.

Flegenheimer is working an open guard so Rameiro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rameiro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Flegenheimer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Flegenheimer slaps away a takedown attempt from Rameiro, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rameiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rameiro wants to stand up but Flegenheimer is controlling him.
Flegenheimer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flegenheimer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Flegenheimer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rameiro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rameiro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rameiro is looking to clinch but Flegenheimer is avoiding it.
Rameiro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flegenheimer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rameiro is defended easily by Flegenheimer.

Rameiro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Flegenheimer wants to control from the top but Rameiro keeps moving.

Flegenheimer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rameiro defends well.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Rameiro dives in and grabs Flegenheimer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flegenheimer pushes down on Rameiro's head and hops out.

Flegenheimer has Rameiro pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rameiro manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rameiro wants to stand up but Flegenheimer is controlling him.

Rameiro pushes Flegenheimer off and gets back to his feet.
Rameiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flegenheimer's waist but Flegenheimer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rameiro off to one side.

Rameiro ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rameiro no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rameiro is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Flegenheimer's half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Flegenheimer is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rameiro jumps into side control!
Carlos Rameiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Flegenheimer throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rameiro works the jab nicely.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rameiro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
