Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Kiszely !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy West!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by West or perhaps it was just good defense by Kiszely which made him look bad.
Kiszely fakes high and swings low for a body shot but West manages to avoid it.

West closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

West decides to pull guard.
Kiszely trying to control but West is working from the bottom.

West working for a triangle but Kiszely defends it easily.
Kiszely knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for West on the ground.
West looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kiszely is one step ahead there.
West has control of Kiszely 's left arm, preventing Kiszely from doing any damage.
West will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like Randy West has been cut.

West tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kiszely swivels and escapes.
Major Kiszely has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy West.
Kiszely fakes high and swings low for a body shot but West manages to avoid it.
Major Kiszely is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
West bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kiszely fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kiszely steps into range and cracks West with a monster punch that buckles his knees! West flops backwards and Kiszely dives into his guard looking to finish!


West is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kiszely wants to stand but West has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
West is still in real trouble! Can Kiszely finish him?

West looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
West seems to have recovered his senses.
West controls Kiszely momentarily but Kiszely frees himself.
West is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kiszely is staying active underneath West, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

West is trying to control the action in half guard but Kiszely is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

West is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kiszely defends it well.
West thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kiszely 's head.

Kiszely on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kiszely tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
West dodges the punch combination from Kiszely .
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kiszely misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely.

Kiszely throws out a loose jab but West uses good head movement to avoid it.
West avoids the body shot from Kiszely .

West shoots in and bounces Kiszely off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

West loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
West trying to control but Kiszely is working from the bottom.
Kiszely has momentary wrist control but West slips an elbow through the middle.

Kiszely avoiding damage under a succession of punches from West.
Kiszely tries to roll over but West keeps him under control.
Kiszely wants to get back to full guard but West has mounted him!
Kiszely is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kiszely tries to reverse the position but West maintains control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
West landing strikes, looking to finish!


It looks like Major Kiszely has been cut.
Kiszely tries to lock up and control but West gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kiszely is looking to get to half guard.
West looking to ground and pound but Kiszely is blocking nicely.
Kiszely wants to control but West is having none of it.
West landing strikes from the mount and Kiszely is in trouble!
West prevents Kiszely from getting the reversal.
West is landing with some decent strikes but Kiszely is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Randy West has got the better of the ground game so far.

West is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kiszely is surviving well by controlling West's body position as best he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kiszely is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Major Kiszely will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Major Kiszely 's cut is getting worse.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kiszely is desperately trying to improve his position but West has a good base and remains in mount.
Oh Kiszely is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

West landing punches.


Jeez, Major Kiszely 's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Major Kiszely 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
