Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Uchoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uchoa pushes Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.
Uchoa lands an uppercut.
Uchoa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Uchoa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Diaz.

Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Uchoa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Uchoa lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Diaz backwards.

Uchoa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

No joy there for Uchoa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Diaz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Uchoa's guard now.

Diaz is looking to work some ground and pound but Uchoa has wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The referee warns Uchoa that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Diaz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Uchoa's face.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Diaz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Uchoa tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.
Diaz is landing with some decent strikes but Uchoa is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Diaz working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Uchoa looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Diaz! Submission of the night perhaps?
