Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Padre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Padre has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steve East's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve East! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Padre! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Padre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts East as he jumps to the side. East doesn't succeed with the takedown so Padre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. East working for a triangle but Padre defends it easily.
Padre decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. East swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Padre is looking to clinch but East is avoiding it.
East misses with a takedown and Padre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for East! This has been an exciting period of action! East holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Padre tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Padre looking for a guillotine from mount but East is having none of it. East regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. East trying to control from the bottom.
East moves into full guard.
East has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Padre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. East is breathing heavily. Padre gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. East pulls out of a head kick attempt.
East shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Padre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve East. That's going to take a lot out of him. Padre sitting in guard here, content to control. East has his foot on Padre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Padre works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Padre is standing up over East. East looks to escape but Padre dives into side control.
East tries to improve position but can't. Padre working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. East manages to work his way to half guard, despite Padre's best efforts. East trying to control here.
East manages to escape and get back to his feet! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! East shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Padre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in East's guard now. East is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. East looking for a guillotine here but Padre defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. East is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Padre tries to get to full guard but East has control of the leg. East trying to control the action but Padre is working from the bottom. Padre wants to get back to full guard. East is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Padre makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Padre. East trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. East drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and East jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Padre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
East manages to regain half guard. Good work. East wants to control but Padre is keeping busy and won't allow it. East makes his way to full guard. A much better position for East. Padre stands and throws East's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. East striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
East is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Padre dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
East gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Padre advances position into side control! Padre working away. East manages to get back to half guard. East is trying to stand.
East is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. East has one foot on Padre's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. East fails with the takedown and Padre counters with a takedown into side control. Padre staying calm. East is looking to regain half guard here but Padre keeps moving and retains side control. Padre is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Padre working away. East is looking for a sweep. Padre is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down East's shoulder. That is not cool. East tries to bench press Padre off him but Padre keeps the position. East wants to control but Padre postures up. Padre looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. East tries to clinch up but Padre circles away and keeps his distance. East shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Padre counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. East looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now East is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. East trying to control the position from guard on top but Padre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. East is fighting to break Padre's control of his arms but Padre is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Let's hope that Padre has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Padre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Padre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in East's guard. Padre wants to control from the top but East keeps moving. Padre controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Padre trying to control the position from guard on top but East is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Padre keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of East's head. East utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Padre stands up from guard. Let's bang! East avoids a low kick by using good footwork. East fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve East. That's going to take a lot out of him. Padre fails in his attempt to clinch. East shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Oooooh, big shot lands for East! Padre is hurt baaadly! East is firing away with more strikes - Padre is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Steve East!
