The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tar staying out of range there. Walker lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice defenses there by Walker. Tar slips under a jab from Walker. Tar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Walker did well to prevent Tar getting side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Walker is trying to get back to full guard. Walker tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Tar tries to stand but can't do so whilst Walker controls his leg. Walker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Walker wants to sweep here but Tar controlling him for the moment. Walker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tar working some strikes from top position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.
Tar has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Walker should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tar has tightened it up now! Walker should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jack Tar!
