Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taro Vakan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Volk Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vakan lands a left and a right that send Han crashing to the mat, dazed. Vakan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
No luck for Han with that takedown attempt.
Vakan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Han circles away quickly and effectively.
Vakan moves into the clinch.
Vakan breaks the clinch.
Vakan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Han's guard.
Han avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Han holds on and takes a little breather.
Han's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vakan trying to control but Han is working from the bottom.
Han seems keen to control Vakan's posture.

Han is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vakan wants to control from the top but Han keeps moving.
Han manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vakan manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vakan is trying to stand.
Han takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Vakan is looking to improve his position.
Han perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Vakan is refusing to be controlled, as Han sits in half guard.
Despite being in the dominant position, Volk Han just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Han misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Han takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Vakan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vakan is really struggling to control Han but he's trying to hold on to the position.
You can see the frustration on Han's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vakan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vakan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vakan is looking to take a break and control but Han is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Han wants to control but Vakan postures up.
Vakan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Han to his feet.
Han gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Han with a poor takedown
and Vakan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Han thinking.

Vakan scores with a one two! Han had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Han closes the distance and clinches up with Vakan, looking for a takedown. Han pushes Vakan against the cage but Vakan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Taro Vakan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Volk Han.

Vakan tries to score a body lock takedown but Han shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Vakan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Han tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vakan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Han somewhat.
Vakan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Vakan looks to land a combination but Han avoids it well.

and Vakan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Taro Vakan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vakan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Han shoots in for a takedown but Vakan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Han stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vakan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vakan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vakan tries to get out of the position.

Han tries to free his leg and advance position but Vakan is retaining full guard.

Vakan controls Han momentarily but Han frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Han counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vakan!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Vakan. No joy for Han on that attempt.
Han is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vakan.
Han closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vakan circles away.
Vakan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Han, pushing him back against the cage.
Vakan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vakan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vakan.

Vakan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Han clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Vakan throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Han controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Vakan tries to get the hooks in deep but Han pushed the leg off.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Han wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
Volk Han has got the better of the ground game so far.
Han trying to control but not successfully.
Han's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Vakan's hands.
I really don't envy Han right now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vakan not allowing Han to control his hands.

Han manages to reverse the position and now he's in Vakan's guard. Nice work there by Han.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vakan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Han is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Let's hope that Han has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Han shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vakan as he jumps to the side.
Taro Vakan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Volk Han.

Vakan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vakan wants it to stay on the feet.
Han avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Vakan counters by moving into the clinch.
Vakan is trying to break the clinch but Han is controlling him.
Vakan lands a hook to the side of the head.
Han takes an elbow to the forehead.
Han has Vakan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vakan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
