Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tex Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales's entrance music is Himno Nacional Mexicano. A fine choice. Peterson has chosen - as his entrance music. The key to victory for Enrique Gonzales has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enrique Gonzales! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tex Peterson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzales throws a lazy right hand but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Peterson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Peterson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Peterson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gonzales tries to roll over but Peterson keeps him under control. Peterson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Peterson stops Gonzales from getting back to his feet.
Peterson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Gonzales is defending well. Peterson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gonzales manages to get to full guard.
Peterson is looking to work some ground and pound but Gonzales has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peterson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gonzales has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Peterson has managed to get both his arms back between Gonzales's legs - danger averted. Peterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Peterson is working Gonzales over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales tries to land a sweep but no joy. Peterson landing with the ground and pound. Gonzales looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peterson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Peterson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gonzales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peterson defends it easily. Gonzales looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gonzales is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gonzales working for a triangle but Peterson defends it easily.
Peterson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson working some strikes from top position. Gonzales looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Peterson wants to pass the guard but Gonzales is keeping the position. Peterson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Peterson stands up over Gonzales, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Peterson landing some decent shots from guard. Peterson wants to pass the guard but Gonzales is keeping the position. Gonzales escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Peterson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson postures up in Gonzales's guard and throws a big left but Gonzales blocks it. Peterson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Peterson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peterson advances position into side control! Gonzales gets back to half guard. Peterson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gonzales avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Peterson. Gonzales moves into full guard.
Peterson works over Gonzales with some ground and pound from guard. Peterson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gonzales has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Peterson is looking to defend but Gonzales has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Peterson! Gonzales pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Peterson taps out and this one is all over!
