Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michel Thurtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogerio Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Thurtz's half guard.
Carvalho seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Carvalho is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Carvalho tries to stand but Thurtz is controlling from the bottom.
Carvalho throws a strike but Thurtz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee warns Carvalho that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Carvalho tries to hold on but Thurtz pushes him away.

Rogerio Carvalho is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carvalho drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thurtz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thurtz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thurtz!
Thurtz stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Carvalho is breathing heavily.
Thurtz throws a nice looking combination but Carvalho bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Carvalho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thurtz tries to avoid it but Carvalho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thurtz to the ground. Thurtz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rogerio Carvalho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carvalho swats away the attempt to clinch by Thurtz.
Thurtz misses with a body shot.
Thurtz takes a swing at Carvalho's ribcage but misses.
A bone on bone clash there as Thurtz blocks the leg kick.
Thurtz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Thurtz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carvalho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Carvalho closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Carvalho is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thurtz.
Carvalho connects with a good right hand that stumbles Thurtz. Thurtz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Well Thurtz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
