Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Desalvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Roth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desalvo loads up on a big right hand but Roth slips the punch.
Roth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Desalvo's waist but Desalvo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roth off to one side.
Roth throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Decent striking displayed by Desalvo there.
Desalvo shoots in looking for a takedown. Roth tries to sprawl out of it but Desalvo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roth with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Desalvo to score with a decent uppercut.
Roth fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Desalvo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Roth counters with a left to the body.
Desalvo walks into a left hand.
Roth drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Desalvo is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roth is looking to sweep but instead, Desalvo has passed into half guard.

Desalvo is working Roth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Desalvo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Desalvo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roth can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Desalvo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch lands to the side of Roth 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Roth ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Desalvo moves away.
Roth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Desalvo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Roth sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Roth bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Well Roth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
