Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Desalvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Roth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Albert Desalvo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Roth! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Desalvo loads up on a big right hand but Roth slips the punch. Roth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Desalvo's waist but Desalvo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roth off to one side. Roth throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Decent striking displayed by Desalvo there. Desalvo shoots in looking for a takedown. Roth tries to sprawl out of it but Desalvo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Roth with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Desalvo to score with a decent uppercut. Roth fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Desalvo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Roth counters with a left to the body. Desalvo walks into a left hand. Roth drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Desalvo is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roth is looking to sweep but instead, Desalvo has passed into half guard.
Roth works his way to full guard. Good work. Desalvo won't allow Roth to sweep him here. Roth looking to control.
Desalvo is working Roth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Desalvo thows a big elbow that misses. Desalvo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Roth wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Roth keeping moving, preventing Desalvo from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Desalvo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roth tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Desalvo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Desalvo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roth keeps working. Roth gets back to half guard. Roth is looking for a sweep. Desalvo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roth regains full guard. Nicely done. Roth lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Desalvo! Desalvo can't escape the position.
Roth throwing strikes here but Desalvo is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Roth landing strikes from the mount and Desalvo is in trouble! Roth throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Desalvo reaches up and holds on to Roth to control the position. Desalvo tries to reverse the position but Roth maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roth sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Desalvo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Desalvo is looking to control Roth's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Desalvo avoid being mounted? Desalvo is refusing to be controlled, as Roth sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roth trying to mount his opponent but Desalvo defends it. Roth landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Roth dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Desalvo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Desalvo gets caught flat footed, as Roth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Roth throwing strikes from guard but Desalvo blocks nicely. Desalvo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Desalvo trying to control from half guard but Roth is working away. Desalvo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Roth is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Desalvo is thwarting Roth's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Desalvo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Roth has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Desalvo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Roth scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Desalvo is trying to control Roth's posture but Roth avoids it. Desalvo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Desalvo manages to get back to half guard. Roth drops an elbow to the side of Desalvo's head. Desalvo wants to control but Roth is keeping busy.
Roth prevents Desalvo from improving his position. Roth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Roth sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Desalvo defending well though. Desalvo moves into full guard.
Roth throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roth is in close to Desalvo's body, working some short punches and elbows. Desalvo wants to sweep here but Roth controlling him for the moment. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Roth's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Roth pushes down on Desalvo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Desalvo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Roth. Roth thows a huge punch but Desalvo dodges it nicely.
Desalvo is trying to maintain the position but Roth is very close to passing his half guard. Roth wants to lay and pray for a moment but Desalvo keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Roth landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Roth scoring with strikes to the body and head. Roth seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Desalvo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Roth is thwarting Desalvo's attempts to control the position. Roth is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Desalvo has managed to free his arm - good work. Roth prevents Desalvo from improving his position. Desalvo looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Roth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Roth defending against the ground and pound. Desalvo lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Roth is not content to let Desalvo control the position. Desalvo is really struggling to control Roth but he's trying to hold on to the position. Roth is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Albert Desalvo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roth can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Desalvo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch lands to the side of Roth 's head but he takes it in his stride. Roth ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Desalvo moves away. Roth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Desalvo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Roth sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Roth bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roth lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Desalvo trying to remain calm as Roth controls from the top position. Desalvo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Roth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roth cracks Desalvo with a big elbow. Roth is looking to take a break and control but Desalvo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Desalvo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Desalvo wants to free his trapped foot but Roth is holding on for dear life with his legs. Roth trying to control but Desalvo postures up.
Desalvo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Roth trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Desalvo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Roth preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Roth is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Albert Desalvo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Roth has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
