Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johny Bone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Smackiau! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smackiau stuffs the takedown. Smackiau misses with an uppercut. Bone saw that one coming. Smackiau throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bone shoots in but Smackiau avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bone drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bone wants to pass the guard but Smackiau is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bone is working hard here to advance position. Bone trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Smackiau kicks Bone off and gets to his feet. Smackiau just misses with a punch to the body.
Smackiau keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johny Bone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smackiau thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. No luck for Bone with that takedown attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bone.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bone goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smackiau has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bone but great work by Smackiau. An elbow from Smackiau crashes against the mat.
Smackiau misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Smackiau with the ground and pound but Bone regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Smackiau not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smackiau is nestled in close to Bone, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smackiau not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smackiau missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ground and pound from Smackiau. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nice strikes from Smackiau there. Smackiau thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bone's head. Bone is breathing heavily.

Smackiau takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Smackiau throwing shots but Bone is blocking nicely. Smackiau lands strikes from half guard. Bone tries to get to full guard but Smackiau has control of the leg. Bone trying to control but Smackiau postures up.
Bone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bone blocking the ground and pound attempt from Smackiau. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manny Smackiau dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smackiau throws a nice looking combination but Bone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice takedown defense from Smackiau. No joy for Bone on that attempt. Smackiau throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bone keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bone shoots for a double leg takedown but Smackiau sprawls well. He's pushed Bone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smackiau as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johny Bone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bone ducks under a wild hook from Smackiau. Smackiau digs a good hook to Bone's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smackiau drops Bone with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Bone! Smackiau dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
