Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Beale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corey Stevenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Beale! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

Stevenson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stevenson misses with a takedown attempt - Beale sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Stevenson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stevenson keeps the fight on the outside.
Stevenson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Stevenson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Stevenson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stevenson stops Beale from getting back to his feet.
Beale is looking to get back to is feet but Stevenson passes into side control.
Stevenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stevenson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Stevenson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beale wants to stand up but Stevenson is controlling him. Stevenson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Beale is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stevenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Beale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stevenson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Beale looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Beale looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Beale!

Beale has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Beale lands with a shot to the body. Stevenson is breathing heavily. Stevenson moves out of range as Beale throws a body kick.
Beale throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stevenson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Beale's half guard. Stevenson prevents Beale from standing back up.

Stevenson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Beale manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stevenson has Beale in his guard. Beale tries to stand but Stevenson is controlling from the bottom.
Stevenson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beale defends well. Beale wanted to stand there but Stevenson had control of the position.

Stevenson seems keen to control Beale's posture. Beale has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stevenson is proving hard to escape from. Stevenson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stevenson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beale defends well.
Beale gets to his feet. Stevenson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Beale wants to clinch. Stevenson throws a series of punches but Beale moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Corey Stevenson will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Beale wants to clinch. Stevenson shoots in for a takedown but Beale shows good takedown defense. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stevenson. Stevenson tries for a takedown but Beale sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Stevenson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stevenson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Beale manages to avoid it. Beale swings and misses with a shot to the body
so Stevenson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stevenson stops Beale from standing up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Beale misses with a low kick. Stevenson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A head kick by Beale misses
so Stevenson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stevenson throws a strike but Beale rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Stevenson has his foot on Beale's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beale works his way back into a safe position though.
Beale stands up from guard. Let's bang! Stevenson moves out of range of the leg kick from Beale. Beale looks to score with a jab to the body but Stevenson is just out of range. Stevenson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Beale swings for the body but Stevenson moves out of range.

Stevenson looks for a takedown but Beale sprawls well. Beale tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stevenson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Beale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stevenson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Stevenson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Beale is trying to buck Stevenson off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Beale is looking to get back to his feet here but Stevenson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Beale's back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Corey Stevenson dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Beale tried to score with a low kick but Stevenson checks it. Beale looks to score with a jab to the body but Stevenson is just out of range. Stevenson moves out of range of the strikes. Beale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stevenson scores with a takedown into Beale's guard. Stevenson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Beale wants to stand up but Stevenson is controlling him.

Stevenson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Beale has managed to free his arm - good work. Beale looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stevenson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beale's head.
Beale makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Stevenson moves into range and clinches up with Beale. Stevenson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beale has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Stevenson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Beale really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Stevenson. Let's hope that Beale has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Stevenson trying to control the hands but Beale breaks the grip.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Corey Stevenson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stevenson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
