Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ming Ong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Ovronnaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ovronnaz's choice of entrance music: Sick Of It All - Step Down. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ming Ong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yuri Ovronnaz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovronnaz throws a right hand that Ong ducks under and follows up with a left that Ong also avoids with ease. Nice takedown defense from Ovronnaz. No joy for Ong on that attempt. Ovronnaz tries to bum rush Ong with a series of wild strikes but Ong uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ong connects with a jab. Ong is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ovronnaz's half guard. Ovronnaz is looking to control Ong's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ovronnaz avoid being mounted? Ong prevents Ovronnaz from standing back up.
Ovronnaz wants to get back to full guard. Ong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ovronnaz's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ong controlling the action here. Ong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ong is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ong missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ong showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ovronnaz.

and Ong counters with a lovely shot to the body. Yuri Ovronnaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ovronnaz looks gassed! Ovronnaz throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Ong counter with a right hand. Ong looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ovronnaz! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ovronnaz throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Ovronnaz is trying to stand up. Ong controlling the position easily from mount. Ong lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ong landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ong scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Ong sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ong lands a nice shot to the head. Ong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ong pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ong looking to secure an arm triangle but Ovronnaz defends it well. Ong avoids the attempt from Ovronnaz to control. Ong unloads with some shots from mount but Ovronnaz bucks and avoids them well.
Ong has hold of Ovronnaz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ovronnaz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ong scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Ovronnaz?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ong misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ong lands a big shot there that rocks Ovronnaz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ong moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ovronnaz has worked his arm free - good work by Ovronnaz!
Ong sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ovronnaz is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Ovronnaz is not content to let Ong control the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ong scoring with punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ming Ong dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Ong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ong. Ong loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ovronnaz keeping full guard, as Ong tries to pass. Ong pushes down on Ovronnaz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ong stands up out of the half guard. Ovronnaz throws a combination that misses and Ong counters with a left and a right that stings Ovronnaz. Ong scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ovronnaz is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ong closes the distance and clinches. Ovronnaz has a couple of punches blocked by Ong.
Ong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ong catches Ovronnaz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ovronnaz takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovronnaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ong moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ovronnaz is rocked! Ong pushes Ovronnaz up against the cage in a clinch. Ovronnaz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ong manages to break the clinch.
Ong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ong shoots in looking for a takedown. Ovronnaz tries to sprawl out of it but Ong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ovronnaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ovronnaz throws a combination that misses and Ong counters with a one-two to the body. Ovronnaz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ong counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ovronnaz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ong. Ovronnaz is still on wobbly legs! Can Ong finish him? Ong lands a nice hook to Ovronnaz's body. Ovronnaz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ovronnaz can do to turn this around? Ong throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Ovronnaz stumbling backwards into the cage! Ovronnaz bounces back off the cage towards Ong, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Ong lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Ong celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
