Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bean pole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos da Guia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). da Guia comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Saturate - Chemical Brothers kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bean pole has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bean pole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos da Guia! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! pole tries a head kick but it misses.
pole throws a wild body kick that da Guia sees coming a mile off. da Guia throws a right hand that pole ducks under and follows up with a left that pole also avoids with ease. pole is looking to clinch but da Guia is avoiding it.
da Guia throws a head kick that misses and pole counters with a big head kick but da Guia shrugs it off. pole is looking to clinch. A head kick by da Guia misses and pole moves into the clinch. pole misses with a knee strike.
da Guia blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. pole lands a good knee to the midsection. da Guia won't want to take too many of those. pole utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. da Guia looks to throw an elbow but misses. pole trying to land knees to the body.
pole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. pole has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. pole throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as da Guia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. pole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. da Guia wants to stand up but pole is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. da Guia tries to keep at a distance but pole has taken the fight into the clinch. da Guia tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. pole just stands there and leans against the cage. pole pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. pole striking off his back but it's not causing da Guia any problems. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. pole looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
da Guia throwing strikes from guard but pole blocks nicely. da Guia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. pole working for a triangle but da Guia defends it easily.
pole has his foot on da Guia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. da Guia works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bean pole dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
pole tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. pole throws a nice outside leg kick. pole tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. pole moves into range and clinches up with da Guia. pole unloads a knee to the mid-section. pole jumps guard but da Guia stands there with pole around his waist. pole gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. da Guia is looking to take a break and control but pole is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. da Guia takes advantage of some sloppy striking from pole to pass into mount. pole is desperately trying to improve his position but da Guia has a good base and remains in mount. pole throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. pole is squirming around, avoiding da Guia's attempts to control the action. pole tries to reverse the position but da Guia maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. da Guia blocks pole's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. pole bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! da Guia wants to stand and escape but pole is having none of it. pole looking to pass the guard. da Guia working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from pole. pole drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but da Guia manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now pole has da Guia in his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. pole throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! da Guia escapes and throws pole's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. pole tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but da Guia presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! pole is wriggling around trying to escape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bean pole will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looks like Carlos da Guia has been cut. pole unloads a knee to the mid-section. da Guia lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. da Guia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. pole throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but da Guia blocks it with crossed arms. pole tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. da Guia just stands there and leans against the cage. pole manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. pole throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
pole has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but da Guia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. pole had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. da Guia defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. pole is looking for a triangle but da Guia pushes his legs off easily.
pole is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. pole looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
pole is looking to stand back up but da Guia counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by pole.
That's three minutes gone in the round. da Guia wants to pass to mount but pole is defending the position. pole is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
pole is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. pole is trying desperately to improve position. da Guia tries to control but pole wriggling away. pole working to try and regain half guard.
Carlos da Guia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! pole flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Bean pole showed his dominance in that final round. Well pole has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
