The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rough looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rogers is fending him off so far but Rough persists. Nope, Rogers circles away and we're back to standing. Rough shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rough was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Rough looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Rough goes for an armbar but Rogers turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Rogers. Rogers wants to stand but Rough is controlling his posture from full guard. Rough is looking for a triangle but Rogers pushes his legs off easily.
Rough pushes a forearm under Rogers's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Rogers is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jim Rough!
