Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jun Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Latish Festin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Kimura!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Latish Festin!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Festin.

Kimura scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Festin is trying to stand up here but Kimura is controlling him well.

Kimura is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Festin sees it coming and defends easily.

Kimura is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Festin is just riding it out for now. Kimura eventually gives up the hold.
Kimura throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kimura prevents Festin from improving his position.

Kimura seems to be looking for submissions.
Festin wants to get back to full guard.
Festin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kimura wants to work for an arm triangle but Festin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kimura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kimura is breathing heavily.
Festin looks like he's trying to stand up.
Festin regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kimura looking to pass the guard.
Kimura cracks Festin with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Festin wants to stand and escape but Kimura is having none of it.
Kimura postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kimura is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Festin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Festin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kimura postures up.
Kimura wants to pass the guard but Festin is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Festin tries for a takedown but Kimura circles away easily

and Kimura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Festin's guard.
Kimura missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kimura trying to control the position from guard on top but Festin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kimura passes into half guard.
Festin wants to get back to his feet.
Kimura moves nicely into side control.

Kimura is working to tighten is grip on Festin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Festin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kimura is really squeezing tight and eventually Festin passes out! Kimura breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
