Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tanaka Shidoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tonyong Bayawak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tanaka Shidoshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tonyong Bayawak! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shidoshi looks to land a left hand but Bayawak moved out of range nicely. Bayawak takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bayawak tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shidoshi avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shidoshi with a nice cross. Bayawak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bayawak walks into a straight right hand from Shidoshi. Bayawak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bayawak moves out of range of the strikes. Bayawak attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Bayawak defending well as Shidoshi loads up on a big left hand. A big left from Shidoshi misses. Bayawak rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shidoshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bayawak throws a right and a left that Shidoshi avoids nicely. No luck for Shidoshi with that takedown attempt. Shidoshi defending well as Bayawak loads up on a big left hand. Shidoshi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bayawak sprawls well initially but Shidoshi persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shidoshi working the head and body with strikes. Shidoshi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shidoshi lands with a punch from half guard. Shidoshi is looking to advance position but Bayawak won't allow it. Bayawak wants to get back to his feet.
Shidoshi content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shidoshi trying to control the action but Bayawak is working from the bottom. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shidoshi in particular looking to stall. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shidoshi connects with a nice short shot to Bayawak's temple. Shidoshi is trying to control. Bayawak wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bayawak is looking to get back to is feet but Shidoshi passes into side control.

The strikes coming from Shidoshi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Shidoshi is working Bayawak over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shidoshi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shidoshi throws an elbow but Bayawak slips to the side and avoids it well. Bayawak avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shidoshi. Bayawak takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Shidoshi wants to control but Bayawak is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bayawak is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Bayawak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shidoshi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bayawak is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Bayawak is pushing Shidoshi's head away, looking to escape. Shidoshi manages to hold on to the position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shidoshi cracks Bayawak with a big right hand but Bayawak just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Shidoshi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bayawak's legs. Shidoshi is looking to take a break and control but Bayawak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bayawak fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The fighters circling - Shidoshi throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bayawak tries to bum rush Shidoshi with a series of wild strikes but Shidoshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Shidoshi checks a low kick from Bayawak. Shidoshi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Shidoshi shoots in and bounces Bayawak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Shidoshi trying to control the position from guard on top but Bayawak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shidoshi stops Bayawak from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shidoshi stays in close to Bayawak's body and controls the position. Shidoshi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bayawak can't keep his opponent in guard - Shidoshi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Shidoshi is looking to advance position but Bayawak won't allow it. Bayawak is staying active underneath Shidoshi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shidoshi is looking for a kimura but Bayawak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shidoshi to get the leverage.

Shidoshi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Shidoshi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bayawak?
Bayawak is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Shidoshi! Bayawak is hurt baaadly! Shidoshi is firing away with more strikes - Bayawak is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
