Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fergus McDugan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JC Coat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JC Coat has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fergus McDugan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, JC Coat!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDugan shoots in for a takedown but Coat shows good takedown defense.

Coat clinches with his opponent.
Coat tries to score a body lock takedown but McDugan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Coat drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McDugan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Coat has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McDugan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Coat drops down looking for an ankle pick but McDugan pulls his leg out and moves away.

McDugan lands a left and a right that send Coat crashing to the mat, dazed. McDugan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like JC Coat has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coat takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

A slapping body kick lands there for McDugan.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Coat throws a strike but McDugan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coat can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

McDugan is pushing down on Coat's leg trying to pass to half guard. Coat is fighting to maintain full guard but McDugan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Coat shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McDugan's guard.
