Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Reams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reams comes to the cage accompanied by Orgasmatron. Jose Cortez acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim Reams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Cortez! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Reams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reams creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cortez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cortez managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Reams.
Cortez is not content to let Reams control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reams tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Cortez dodges the ground and pound from Reams. Reams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cortez keeps working. Reams throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Cortez works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cortez trying to control but Reams postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reams looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Cortez with a poor takedown and Reams counters with a shoot takedown. Cortez fights it but they end up in guard. Reams throwing strikes from guard but Cortez blocks nicely. Reams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cortez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cortez is trying to control the position but Reams postures up. Cortez wriggles free and stands up. Reams scores with a takedown into Cortez's guard. Cortez looks gassed! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cortez taking some punishment here, with Reams in his half guard. Cortez moves into full guard.

Cortez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reams cracks Cortez with a solid left hand.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cortez stuffs the takedown attempt from Reams. Reams gets slowly back to his feet. Reams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cortez counters with a single leg into guard. Reams didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reams tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Reams dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Reams gets the takedown into side control. Reams is trying to ground and pound but Cortez uses the momentary lack of control by Reams to regain half guard. Tim Reams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cortez actively working from the bottom here. Reams not landing any meaningful shots this time. Reams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cortez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Reams decides to stand up. Reams tries for a takedown but Cortez circles away easily and Cortez counters with a takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reams wants to control but Cortez postures up. Cortez is looking to take a break and control but Reams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reams fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Reams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cortez circles away quickly and effectively. Cortez shoots and misses and Reams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Reams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reams showed some decent athleticism there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reams is looking to pass Cortez's guard but actually Cortez recovers to full guard. Reams trying to control but Cortez is working from the bottom. Reams postures up and lands a big shot to Cortez's brow. Cortez trying to control the position.
Cortez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Reams sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reams connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Reams drives through with a takedown into guard. Cortez looking for a sweep. Not yet Cortez, not yet. Reams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Reams looking to sit in guard and control but Cortez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cortez trying to control but Reams is working from the bottom. Cortez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cortez stopping the sweep attempt from Reams.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cortez throws a right hand that Reams ducks under and follows up with a left that Reams also avoids with ease. Reams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Reams wants to stand but Cortez is controlling his arm. Reams is looking to take a break and control but Cortez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Cortez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Reams with the ground and pound but Cortez regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Reams thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Cortez to regain full guard. Reams is looking to work some ground and pound but Cortez has wrist control. Reams looking to sit in guard and control but Cortez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Reams keeping moving, preventing Cortez from controlling successfully. Tim Reams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reams looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Reams pulls Cortez in close to prevent any damage. Reams controls Cortez momentarily but Cortez frees himself. Cortez wants to control from the top but Reams keeps moving. Reams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cortez is one step ahead there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cortez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Reams tries to control but Cortez wriggling away. Reams controlling from mount. Reams avoids the attempt from Cortez to control. Reams controlling from mount. Reams's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Tim Reams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Reams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
