Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Zyscowich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Kim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Zyscowich! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zyscowich connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Kim feints and as Zyscowich raises his hands in defense, Kim changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kim thows a big elbow that misses. Kim pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zyscowich is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kim wants to control from the top but Zyscowich keeps moving. Zyscowich looking for a sweep. Not yet Zyscowich, not yet. Kim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zyscowich is on top in guard.

Kim tries to land a sweep but no joy. Zyscowich connects with a couple of short punches. Zyscowich working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Zyscowich postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Zyscowich missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Zyscowich must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Zyscowich throws a big right hand that misses. Zyscowich should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Left hook, right uppercut from Zyscowich. Kim is looking to clinch. Zyscowich throws a leg kick but Kim checks it. Kim dodges the punch combination from Zyscowich.
Ben Zyscowich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. An inside leg kick lands from Kim. Kim is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zyscowich. Zyscowich throws a right and a left that Kim avoids nicely. Zyscowich fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kim throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zyscowich's waist but Kim gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kim off to one side. Zyscowich throws a series of strikes that have Kim backpedaling.
Kim tries a head kick but it misses.
Kim looks for a takedown but Zyscowich sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zyscowich misses with a wild combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim throws a nice inside leg kick. Zyscowich throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kim. Zyscowich looks gassed! Zyscowich goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kim shoots and misses and Zyscowich counters by clinching up. Zyscowich is trying to trip Kim. He has hold of a leg but Kim is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Zyscowich persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Zyscowich lands a couple of decent looking shots. Kim is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kim tries to pull guard but Zyscowich holds him up against the cage and eventually Kim drops back down to his feet.

Kim tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zyscowich smiles and moves away.
Kim tries to keep at a distance but Zyscowich has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim goes for a takedown attempt but Zyscowich pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Zyscowich feints and as Kim raises his hands in defense, Zyscowich changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Zyscowich wants to pass the guard but Kim is keeping the position. Zyscowich controls from within his opponent's guard. Kim looking for a sweep. Not yet Kim, not yet. Zyscowich content to stall in guard here. Zyscowich landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zyscowich trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zyscowich working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Zyscowich throwing strikes from guard but Kim blocks nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kim with a lazy takedown attempt so Zyscowich counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kim scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Zyscowich darts in trying to clinch and Kim counters by clinching up. Kim pulls Zyscowich into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kim wants to stand and escape but Zyscowich is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zyscowich avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Zyscowich content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kim has locked up a guillotine! Kim's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Zyscowich is holding on here and Kim must be using up a lot of energy. Zyscowich has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kim gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kevin Kim!
