Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liste Pik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Simon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Liste Pik's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liste Pik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jordan Simon!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pik loads up on a big right hand but Simon slips the punch.

Pik has closed the distance and engaged Simon in a clinch.

It looks like Jordan Simon has been cut.
Simon wants to get back to striking at distance but Pik won't allow it.
Simon takes a shot to the head.
Pik misses with a knee strike.

Pik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simon scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Simon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pik but Pik pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Pik counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Pik rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Simon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pik throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Simon blocks it with crossed arms.
Simon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Simon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Simon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Liste Pik.
Well Pik has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
