Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Andrade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Rodrigez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto Andrade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Rodrigez!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andrade looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodrigez gets back to full guard.
Rodrigez pulls Andrade in to control the position.
Rodrigez keeping moving, preventing Andrade from controlling successfully.
Rodrigez trying to keep a closed guard but Andrade is proving a slippery customer.
Andrade throwing strikes from guard but Rodrigez blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rodrigez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Andrade.

Rodrigez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Andrade has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rodrigez pulls Andrade in close to prevent any damage.

Andrade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rodrigez controls Andrade momentarily but Andrade frees himself.

Rodrigez is working an open guard so Andrade takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rodrigez closes the distance and clinches up with Andrade, looking for a takedown. Rodrigez pushes Andrade against the cage but Andrade circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rodrigez shoots in for a takedown but Andrade shows good takedown defense.

Rodrigez tries to circle away but Andrade has him pinned against the cage.

Rodrigez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Andrade pulls his leg out and moves away.
Roberto Andrade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rodrigez.

Rodrigez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Andrade tries to throw a body punch but Rodrigez avoids it by throwing Andrade back against the cage.

Andrade is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rodrigez pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Andrade accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Andrade tries to clinch but Rodrigez is having none of it.

Andrade shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodrigez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodrigez is looking for a sweep. Andrade is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rodrigez tries to get to full guard but Andrade has control of the leg.
Rodrigez won't allow Andrade to pass to mount.

The referee warns Rodrigez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Andrade takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rodrigez is trying desperately to improve position.
Rodrigez is bucking up trying to escape but Andrade cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Andrade in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Rodrigez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Andrade can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rodrigez is looking to escape.
Andrade takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Andrade fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rodrigez is trying desperately to improve position.
Rodrigez is just holding on here. Andrade manages to take his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Andrade scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Andrade scores with punches and elbows.
Andrade lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Rodrigez.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Andrade shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Andrade wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodrigez keeps working.
Andrade tries to stand and escape but Rodrigez is controlling the position.
Rodrigez is staying active underneath Andrade, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rodrigez wants to control but Andrade passes into side.
Rodrigez wants to control but Andrade postures up.

Rodrigez is trying to maintain the position but Andrade is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rodrigez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rodrigez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Andrade is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rodrigez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Andrade decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
